Premier League Season 2021/2022 Preview

As the premier league season for 2021/2022 draws near Blazing Report sports brings you what to expect in the new season from teams to players, new signings, coaches, etc.

The premier league season kicks off on Friday the 13th of August 2021 with new boys Brentford City hosting Arsenal

Teams Analysis

Arsenal


Arsenal will not be competing in the European football competition this season after finishing in 8th position last season, the first time they are missing out in European football competition since the 1995/96 season when they finished 12th.

They have been active in the transfer market signing three players already and looking to strengthen more especially in the creative midfield position. they have signed ben white from brighton and holve albion, Nuno tavares from benfica, and albert sambi lokonga from anderlecht. Arsenal is currently been linked with James Madison from Leicester City, Ruben Neves from Wolves, and Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.

Arsenal will be looking to do far better than last season and at least try to finish in the champions league spot for next season.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa had a great season last time out finishing in 11th position and will be looking to do better this season. They have brought in some new faces to help their course this season. They have signed Leon Bailey, Ashley Young, Emiliano Buendia. Although their star player, Jack Grealish has joined Manchester City they will be hoping the new players will help fill the void.

Bretford

Taking part in the English top-flight for the first time in the club history they will be looking to stay in the premier league as their target and with an opening game against Arsenal, they will fancy their chances to start on a good note.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton will be looking to start well this season after finishing in 16th position last season, two places above the drop zone.
Their opening game of the season is against Burnley.

Burnley

Burnley who hosts Brighton for their opening game of the season will hope to put a good performance in this season after finishing 17th last season, just one place above the drop zone. They will hope for their new signings to help push them higher up the table.

Chelsea

Chelsea will be aiming for the league title this season after winning the UEFA Champions League last season, beating premier league rivals Manchester City in the finals. Rejuvenated by the arrival of new manager Thomas Tuchel, they have added more attacking firepower by resigning Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace finished in 14th position last season and they will be hoping to do better this season and at least finish in the top half of the table. They’ve strengthened at the back bringing in center-back Marc Guehi from Chelsea and Joachim Andersen from Olympique.

Everton

Everton had ups and downs last season starting very well and finishing badly in the second half of the season, eventually finishing in the 10th position and missing out on the European spot with just 3 points.
With tactician Rafael Benitez replacing Carlo Ancelloti who has joined Real Madrid, they will hope to do better this season. They have signed Demarai Gray from Bayer Leverkusen to strengthen their attack.

Leeds United

Leeds had a great season last time out for a newcomer, after been promoted from the championship they had some great performances missing out on a European spot with just 3 points. This season they will hope to do better as they have now settled in.

Leicester City

Leicester City narrowly missed out of the UEFA Champions League last season on the final day of the season losing at home to Tottenham. They have started well this season though winning the Community Shield against Premier League champion Manchester City

Liverpool

Liverpool had a horrible title defence of the title finishing in the third position on the table and guaranteed champions league qualification on the last day of the season. It was obvious they missed their star defender, Virgil Van Dijk who was injured for most of the season. They will be hoping for another great season and a push for the title as they have added some talents to the team.

Manchester City

They had a great season last time out as they ran away with the title finishing 12 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United. They have added some fresh legs to the team, signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa and still hoping to reach an agreement with Tottenham over the signing of their star striker Harry Kane. They will be hoping to retain the title and also do better in the UEFA Champions League where they lost in the final last season to Chelsea.

Manchester United

They will be hoping to go one place better this season by winning the Premier League title as they finished in second position last season behind Manchester City. They have added Jadon Sancho to bolster their attack.

Newcastle United

Newcastle will be hoping to do better than last season by finishing in the top half of the table and maybe pushing for a European spot. They have made some decent signings this season bringing in Joe Willock from Arsenal for €25m after impressing on loan with them last season by scoring 8 goals in 14 matches 7 of which were in consecutive matches, making him the youngest player to achieve that.

Norwich City returned to the Premier League after just one season in the Championship after been relegated in the 2019/2020 season. they have signed a host of players and will be hoping to do better this time and stay in the Premier League.
